Stainless Steel Steamer Way to good
health
A steamer has a double pot cookware with cover. The bottom pot is
for boiling water and the upper portion comes with a lid and is for steaming
food. The upper pot has tiny little holes at the bottom surface where the
steam can pass through and cook the vegetable with the steam heat. A
stainless steel steamer is durable and easy to maintain. It also disperses
heat uniformly and steams the vegetable faster. Health conscious people are
switching from heavy fried food to steamed vegetables. They are more
nutritious and easy to prepare. However, for using any kind of cookware
there is a right step which is same for
stainless
steel steamer. It is advisable to steam the vegetable on basis of the
instruction provided by experts. Following a proper step steams the food
faster, retains the natural color of the vegetable and preserves the
nutritional value. Here are few tips:
- It is always a good idea to wash the vegetables without peeling. You
can also use salt or soda and rinse them thoroughly. Transfer the
vegetable to large colander and rinse. If required you can repeat the
process to wash the vegetable properly till it's completely cleaned.
- Fill the bottom pot with 1 2 inch of water. Heat the stove on
low flame, put the water pot over the stove and boil it.
- Cut the vegetable uniformly if necessary and place them into the
steamer pot which is the one with the tiny holes at bottom surface.
Place the pot with the veggies on top of the uncovered boiling water pot
and cover the lid of the steamer pot. If you are steaming vegetable for
the first time, be careful. The water evaporates quickly and the
vegetable might burn.
- Turn off the stove, let veggies cool into
the steamer with the cover on for a
while. Open after few minute and it's ready to serve.
